Our grape alcohol is distilled primarily from grape pomace (the solid remains of grapes after crushing and pressing) and wine lees (sediment that settles at the bottom of winemaking vessels). The grape alcohol is sold to distilleries for use in liquor products.
Alcohol from vitivinicultural origin constitutes a permissible ingredient in fortified wine and some special classes of spirits. The byproducts of the wine industry are thus reintroduced into the winemaking process.
